Professionalization through Third Mission in teaching (Project Module 1 OGB)

Professionalisation through Third Mission in teaching (Project Module 1 OGB)

The Institute of Educational Psychology and the Department of Continuing Education and Media offer Project Module 1 for the OGB degree program. Students work in small groups – under the academic supervision of instructors – on projects commissioned by profit or non-profit organizations, thus systematically acquiring experience and skills in a specific professional field. The projects focus on the conception and implementation of interventions or measures, as well as the evaluation of concepts or measures in various fields of activity, such as:

  • Adult and continuing education
  • Personnel development
  • Organizational development, culture
  • Knowledge management and transfer
  • Youth work
  • Counselling
  • Media education

Studies have shown that university graduates have greater opportunities on the job market if they are no longer in a purely "beginner" status, but already have experience and skills in relevant fields and processes.
For this reason, we have designed a project module for the OGB degree program in which students work independently in teams on projects for a year, gaining experience and skills in a specific field. At the same time, they deepen their theoretical knowledge and further develop their academic writing skills. Both provide a solid foundation for the subsequent master's thesis.
