Financial knowledge for all
The course: „Financial Literacy for All“ offers a brief introduction to financial issues that affect all students and is therefore aimed specifically at students with no previous knowledge of economics. The aim of this course is to impart financial education, which is essential for self-determined and reflected decisions in everyday private and professional life.
The course focuses on the sustainable and responsible use of money and the question of what social impact financial decisions can have. In addition to basic knowledge about budgeting, borrowing, investments, insurance and pension provision, students will also look at sustainable financial concepts in particular. One focus is on ESG criteria (environmental, social, governance) and the concept of impact investing, which focuses not only on financial returns but also on the targeted achievement of positive, measurable effects for society and the environment.
The Impact: Students acquire basic financial knowledge and develop a reflective understanding of the effects of financial decisions. They are able to make independent, well-founded and responsible decisions and critically assess sustainable financial issues. The course strengthens personal responsibility, analysis and judgement skills as well as sustainable thinking and thus contributes to preparing students for a responsible role in society and the world of work.
